Compiled and edited by John Hayes.
Welcome to the BURY CINE SOCIETY JOURNAL
19th March.
We had a chance to view some more of Peter’s films this evening, beginning with some footage of the rehearsal for the Trooping of the Colour ceremony which takes place at Horse Guards Parade in London each year - a spectacular event as can be seen from the picture, right. Peter had actually recorded some great images from a point much closer to the event than our picture here. For a complete contrast, we went to Daisy Nook for some delightful wildlife scenes featuring birds and squirrels squabbling over food -
complete with amusing captions added by Peter to make a very amusing and entertaining little film. After that we were off on the East Lancashire Railway for his World of Steam film, which gave us a detailed look at this popular heritage railway and one of the regular events which have become a staple of the venue - the 1940s Weekend, which is pictured left. Peter finished off his show with some spectacular drone shots which show just how smooth and steady today’s drones have become. They are undoubtedly a useful - if not indispensable addition to the film maker’s armoury. A great show!
