Which was my turn to give a show. I had chosen a comedy film from seventies which featured John Cleese, Connie Booth and Arthur Lowe and was entitled, The Strange Case Of the End Of Civilization As We Know It I say comedy because I remembered it as being very funny when I first saw it when it was originally broadcast in 1977. I have to admit, however, that it hadn’t aged well. A Sherlock Holmes spoof which featured a host of familiar faces in supporting roles, while quite entertaining back then, comes over as a little bit strained all these years later. I’ve included a couple of screen shots below for anyone who might have missed it, but I don’t think it went down quite as well as I thought it would. Connie Booth as a leather-clad Moriarty, right, was a nice touch, though.
